Transparent freight pricing, explained line by line
We cannot publish a fixed price list for truckload freight. We can publish exactly how the number is built, and what every accessorial costs.
Pricing approach
How a freight quote is actually built
Nobody can publish a fixed price list for truckload freight — the market moves weekly. What we can publish is exactly what goes into the number we send you, so you can check whether it is fair.
Linehaul
The carrier’s rate for the miles, driven by current supply and demand on that specific lane and direction.
Fuel
Calculated from the DOE national average diesel index published each Monday, not an invented percentage.
Accessorials
Detention, layover, tarping, liftgate, lumper, reconsignment — each listed with its trigger and rate.
Brokerage margin
Our fee for sourcing, vetting, tracking and covering the risk. Disclosed on contract accounts.
Reference ranges
Indicative rates from Austin, TX
Ranges reflect the last twelve months of our own booked freight. They are a sanity check, not a quote.
| Service | Typical basis | Indicative range | Minimum |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dry van FTL, regional | Per mile, all-in | $2.05 – $2.85 | $425 per load |
| Dry van FTL, long haul | Per mile, all-in | $1.85 – $2.45 | — |
| Reefer FTL | Per mile, all-in | $2.35 – $3.20 | $550 per load |
| Flatbed / step deck | Per mile, all-in | $2.45 – $3.35 | $575 per load |
| LTL, 1–6 pallets | Class & density | $185 – $780 | $135 |
| Partial truckload, 7–18 pallets | Linear feet | $3.20 – $6.90 per ft | $390 |
| Expedited sprinter | Per mile | $1.55 – $2.10 | $285 |
| Drayage, Houston port | Per container | $395 – $825 | — |
Ranges exclude permits, escorts, hazmat surcharges and market disruption events such as hurricanes or holiday peaks. Every shipment receives a written quote before dispatch.
Accessorials
What the extras cost, in plain numbers
These are the charges that surprise shippers most often. Ours are stated on the rate confirmation before the truck is dispatched.
If an accessorial is going to be triggered, we call you first. You will not learn about a $340 detention charge from an invoice three weeks later.
| Charge | Trigger | Typical rate |
|---|---|---|
| Detention | After 2 free hours | $55–$85 per hour |
| Layover | Overnight hold | $250–$400 per night |
| Truck order not used | Cancel after dispatch | $150–$350 |
| Tarping | Flatbed, weather-sensitive | $100–$225 |
| Liftgate | No dock at either end | $85–$165 |
| Residential delivery | Non-commercial address | $95–$150 |
| Extra stop | Per additional pick/drop | $75–$150 |
| Reconsignment | Destination changed in transit | Mileage + $150 |
