Our story

A family yard on Byers Lane.

Ted Medina bought his first Peterbilt in 2014 and hauled base rock out of the Yuba pits alone for two years before hiring his cousin. Eleven years later, Transcava runs ten trucks and eight drivers — most of them people who grew up within twenty miles of the yard.

Where we came from

Second generation, built in Marysville.

Ted's father, Ernesto Medina, drove for Teichert Aggregates for 32 years. Growing up riding shotgun in a 1998 Kenworth W900, Ted learned two things: how a good gravel yard smells at 5 a.m., and how much a fair invoice matters to a contractor watching a job budget.

Transcava was founded on those two ideas. We keep our overhead low, our trucks clean, and our billing transparent. The company grew slowly on purpose — one truck at a time, one repeat customer at a time. Today most of our work comes from contractors we've hauled for five years or more.

The company name blends "transport" and the Spanish cava, a hollow cut out of the earth — a nod to the earthworks that gave us our start.

The values that don't change

Three things we won't compromise on.

Show up on time

Late trucks cost contractors real money. Our dispatch board is built around gate times, not average travel windows.

Bill what we said

The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. Fuel swings, wait time, standby — all disclosed up front.

Keep the fleet honest

All trucks pass BIT inspection every 90 days. We run CARB-compliant diesels and retire equipment before it becomes a liability.
